AMD is planning to launch the Radeon RX 7900 GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) on Friday, July 28, according to hardware tipster @momomo_us. Per recent reports, this is a unique version of the RDNA 3 graphics card that will reportedly only be available for the Chinese market, featuring only 16 GB of GDDR6 memory—4 GB and 8 GB less than what the Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX have to work with, respectively. A PCGH editor has also learned that the Radeon RX 7900 GRE features a TDP/TGP of 300 watts, 15 watts less than the Radeon RX 7900 XT.

Im wondering what the Golden Rabbit does for it?
 
Josh Norem of ExtremeTech seems to think that this is a Navi 31 chip inside a Navi 32 packaging !!

One fascinating detail is that when comparing the backside of the GRE card, which stands for Golden Rabbit Edition, to the existing Radeon RX 7900 XT, you can see the underbelly of the die and the retention bracket are a bit smaller on the new GPU. This is odd since both models use the same Navi31 die. However, the mystery could be solved by a new leak showing AMD has developed a smaller package for Navi31 that is designed to let its partners create dummy boards for the incoming Navi32 GPUs. According to Videocardz, the smaller Navi31 has been shipping to partners for months to let them prepare their Radeon 7800 and 7700 boards without having the actual dies.
