Ubisoft Cancels Immortals Fenyx Rising Sequel: Sources

Ubisoft has decided to cancel its sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising, the 2020 open-world adventure game with mythological elements from Assassin's Creed Odyssey developer Ubisoft Quebec, according to sources with VGC. The decision was supposedly made after Ubisoft realized that it would be too difficult to establish the IP as a major franchise. Jeff Grubb, Giant Bomb journalist, reported last year that the sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising would have allowed players to explore mythologies beyond Greece, such as Hawaiian Polynesian myths.
