PC Game Pass subscribers who haven't beaten Death Stranding yet will want to get on that, as the hit game from Kojima Productions is scheduled to leave the service on August 15. Xbox confirmed the date in a new post detailing its new Xbox Game Pass additions for the month of August, which includes Airborne Kingdom, Limbo, and Broforce Forever, the action-packed side-scrolling run 'n' gun game from developer Free Lives and publisher Devolver Digital. Total War: Warhammer III is another title that will be leaving PC Game Pass this month.

I tend to agree, console vendors should build in the subscription service as it exists into the console experience. Maybe a slight premium for it. But only have games that rotate through it for 3-6 months at a time and bill it as a 'try before buy' feature.

Heck if they did that and made the base cost like 5 bucks a month and included some other value add... that would make sense to me.

Then if a game maker had a game with a lot of post purchase value to be extracted they could flip a bit at the end of their try period to make those with x amount of purchases in their game shops just keep the game. Because clearly they are more valuable to have in the game than loose it and they have a sunken cost fallacy in the game already.
