BioWare has announced that it has eliminated 50 of its employees. Gary McKay, General Manager, BioWare, who shared the news today in an update on the official BioWare Blog, described the decision as being "deeply painful" but something that was required so the developer can "meet the needs of [its] upcoming projects, continue to hold [itself] to the highest standard of quality, and ensure BioWare can continue to thrive in an industry that’s rapidly evolving." BioWare's current projects include Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, the fourth installment in the franchise, and a new Mass Effect game that will seemingly see the return of Commander Shepard.
