Can Apple's iPhone 15 Pro really run Resident Evil Village on a native level? Yes, and not only that, it can do it at a pretty decent frame rate, according to a new report from IGN that discusses how Capcom's survival horror title manages to run at 30 FPS on the new premium smartphone with USB-C. Resident Evil Village, along with Resident Evil 4 (remake) and Death Stranding, are slated to launch for iPhone 15 Pro this year, while Assassin's Creed Mirage, Ubisoft's latest mainline title in the franchise, is expected in Q1 2024.

The race to the end of good gaming is accelerating.

This is leading more and more to LESS user interaction with a game. Racing games finite controls are simplified, Flight Sims's the same. Action games are more like FMV video with timed clicks...

I do agree - but …

It’s still very impressive to see a mobile device throw up this kind of performance. If they would open up their app submission requirements so that devs could do things like ~require~ a controller — so they don’t have to dumb every game down to work on a phone interface - they would really have something.

Hate to break it to ya, but we’ve been there for over a decade now.
Not really as games weren't being made to be played on phones, outside of mobile games which were an entirely separate category.
But if now suddenly they smell money and want to make games that are not only on PC and consoles, but also phones, then we are in for whole new era of sewage tier games.
