Pete Hines to Retire from Bethesda Softworks After 24 Years

Pete Hines, SVP of PR & Marketing at Bethesda Softworks, has announced that he will be retiring from the company, best known for the Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and, more recently, Starfield games, after 24 long years. Hines announced the news in a tweet this morning, explaining that while the decision wasn't an easy one to make, he will always continue to be a part of the Bethesda community. The executive described Microsoft as being "the perfect fit" for Bethesda when the Windows and Xbox maker announced that it would be acquiring ZeniMax Media and its subsidiaries back in 2020.

Seems like Bethesda is trimming some people off thanks to the Blizzard/Activision purchase. Overlap on skilled talent means they will be aligning the organizations at a higher level.
