ASRock has announced its new lineup of Phantom Gaming Z790 motherboards for 14th Gen Intel Core processors, revealing that the Phantom Gaming Z790 NOVA WiFi, its latest flagship motherboard aimed at Intel users, features a "whopping" six M.2 PCI-Express NVMe SSD sockets (1X Blazing Gen-5, 5X Hyper Gen-4). Complementing the Phantom Gaming Z790 NOVA WiFi is the Phantom Gaming Z790 Riptide WiFi and Phantom Gaming Z790 Lightning WiFi, which feature 5x and 3x M.2 2280 slots, respectively.

Looks like they're hanging the sixth NVMe slot off of the chipset?

Either way, they're continuing the trend of the NVMe 5 slot usage cutting the graphics x16 slot down to x8, which is really an embarrassing move for the platform as a whole.

There's literally no gaming performance difference at x8 4.0 vs x16 4.0
