Do polling rates above 1,000 Hz really make that big of a difference? For Razer, the answer to that is a definite "yes," having announced today that it is bringing an 8,000 Hz wireless polling rate update to a wider selection of its gaming mice: namely, the Viper V2 Pro, DeathAdder V3 Pro, Cobra Pro, Basilisk V3 Pro, and Viper V3 HyperSpeed. The new feature, which rides off of Razer's HyperPolling Wireless Technology and is "true 8,000 Hz," according to the company, means that eight times more data is transmitted every second from the mouse to PC versus the usual setting, enabling reduced input delays of down to 0.125 ms. Razer's Viper Mini Signature Edition was the first mouse to get a 8,000 Hz HyperPolling Wireless Update, back in April 2023.
