Apple's reality distortion field appears to have expanded into the realm of LPDDR5 memory. In a new interview with a machine learning engineer and Bilibili content creator, Bob Borchers, Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing at Apple, made the curious suggestion that the memory Apple is offering in its new M3 MacBooks is way better than the usual kind that users might find in the average PC.

I can get more mileage out of ram on Linux too. It’s called zram with zstd compression
 
Please buy out expensive M3 driven macbook pro's. They are great.. Suuuure they expensive but 8 gig is more like 16 gig on your Intel systems. TRUST US!
 
This isn't new. Apple has been offering half as much RAM as PC's have for decades. To be fair, there is some truth to it but the fact is that Apple gimps the specs on some of its units to increase their margin.
