The Wi-Fi Alliance has announced that the age of Wi-Fi 7 has officially begun. More than 233 million devices are expected to enter the market in 2024 based on the new 802.11be standard, which offers a peak speed of over 40 Gbps—a big improvement over Wi-Fi 6/6E's 9.6 Gbps. Other upgrades include a higher channel bandwidth of up to 320 MHz (up from 160 MHz) and 4096 vs. 1024 QAM.

I can hear the meetings in my head....

"Our WIFI router sales are way down! How do we boost sales?"

"Let's pretend to invent a new wireless standard so everyone has to buy new ones!"

"Will it be better than what they already have?"

EVERYONE in the meeting pisses themselves with laughter.
