CableMod's 12VHPWR angled adapters for GPUs and graphics cards have officially been recalled as of Thursday, February 8, according to an update by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Hadn't they already implemented a voluntary recall? I guess this helps anyone suing cablemods though.
 
"If the adapter will not disengage from the GPU using reasonable force, the angled adapter may have failed. Please contact customer service for assistance. Support – CableMod or toll-free at 888-203-3605, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (ET). If your GPU is damaged because of a failed adapter, we will repair it if your damage claim is submitted to us by February 22, 2024. Please note that CableMod is no longer reimbursing the purchase price of a damaged GPU."

Big oof there, their replacement assurance was a bit reason many people bought the things to begin with.
 
They had the issue with these where board partners would design their cooling solutions such that the adapters couldn't fully seat - this led to the same problem that folks had not seating the cables themselves fully and then cooking their cards.

I'm glad they're doing the recall though.
