Micron has unveiled the world's first 1.5 TB microSD card, enabling an enormous amount of storage for smart home security, police body cameras, and the countless other hardware devices that leverage the proprietary non-volatile flash memory card format.

not to mention for those that want to steal data. Imagine walking in plugging in a pen with two of those cards in them and downloading 3tb of data to it while you go about a day. congratulations you've stolen the records from a corporation.
I bet the FBI are flipping out. First the banned furbies... now 1.5TB microsd cards... ****...
 
Don't have to go get your peepcam out of the restroom for four months - nice.
 
So thinking outside the marketing blah blah blah ... will these new cards fit in a smartphone that uses MicroSD cards? Looks like they should. Whether they'll be usable at the full memory partition size is the question (i.e., given any unknown limits on memory addressing).
