High sequential speeds are all good and well, it's the IOPS that are really interesting, at least to me.

For a client drive you want good performance at low queue depths.

According to their CrystalDiskMark screenshot (which presumably is done under ideal marketing conditions) and looking at read speeds they - as expected look great at high queue depth sequential tests, but that seems to drop off significantly at Q1T1. With only 4047MB/s my Gen 4 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB is actually faster, at 4232MB/s (if only bey a little bit)

Again, they post pretty impressive random 4k numbers at high queue depths but their Q1T1 random 4k's are pretty low at only 62MB/s. Again, my 2TB 980 Pro hits 88MB/s here.

IMHO the top line sequential high queue depth numbers are great marketing numbers to sell products, but really aren't all that useful in day to day use. The Gen4 980 Pro probably feels snappier under most conditions.
