Cloud-gaming services such as Google’s Stadia and NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW could be getting some serious competition from Amazon, which has been working on its own platform dubbed “Project Tempo.” It isn’t clear when they should start sweating, however, as the New York Times has learned that it may not debut until 2021 due to COVID-19.
While the article doesn’t have any specifics to share regarding Project Tempo, it does provide a bit of detail about Amazon’s overall gaming ambitions, which are huge: the e-tail giant is reportedly “investing hundreds of millions of dollars” to tackle the video game market.
