Amazon is no stranger to capitalizing on the popularity of its brand by using it to sell a wide range of products under private, in-house labels. The store brands that Amazon currently manages include AmazonBasics, a collection that includes tech accessories, as well as Solimo and Amazon Elements, which involve kitchen goods and baby products, respectively.

It appears that televisions are the next big thing on the retail giant’s list. According to sources with Business Insider, Amazon will be rolling out its own Amazon-branded TV very soon—possibly as early as October.

Amazon’s in-house TV is a closely guarded secret that has been in the works for almost two years. Amazon Devices and Lab126, the research and development team...

It's going to need to be very impressive to replace our TCL Roku... It does everything we want it to with no real complaints. Replaced the firestick we had before.

Well, they make their own USB cables, dog food, and microwave ovens. Why not TVs?

It's all just rebadged cheap chinese stuff anyway.

I don't know. They could try and go premium. A 4k OLED option with nice refresh rate.. say 42 inch and 120hz with a Display port and new USB so it could be a smart tv/monitor depending on your use case desires.

Of course they won't though it will be something like a TCL loaded with a internal firestick.

I kind of don't want that because they will be hard core about what apps they will allow for streaming.

Prime, HBO, Netflix, HULU, Disney, but I bet it won't be apple tv. Those two companies have a pretty solid adversity going on.

I'm shocked it hasn't happened before now.

I have a TCL Roku and the TV is fine but the Roku is so old it is almost useless. Bought a new Roku stick just to get a usable experience (and a vastly better remote control).

And sweatpants (which I actually really like) and cargo shorts (also good) and **** near everything else.

Great, as if I need Amazon to mine even more of my private data...

I really wish we could get back to buying high end TV's with the best available picture quality, that are just "dumb" TV's. No built in networked junk. Just a screen that displays what comes in on the HDMI port. And maybe a speaker if you are in to that sort of thing.
