AMD A520 Chipset



Today, AMD completes its 500 Series Chipsets for its AMD Ryzen processors with the launch of the AMD A520 Chipset for socket AM4.  The AMD A520 Chipset is the successor of AMD A320 Chipset which launched in early 2017.  This is entry-level support for AMD 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Desktop Processors (Ryzen 3000 series Zen 2 Architecture) on the AM4 socket platform.  The new A520 Chipset also allows future support for future upgrades based on Zen 3 (Ryzen 4000 series) when they are launched. However, once again it does not support AMD Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3200G.



The A520 Chipset primary upgrade is the use of PCI-Express 3.0 (PCIe Gen 3) General Purpose Lanes instead of A320’s PCI-Express 2.0 lanes.  This means a broader range of connectivity options and faster performance to those peripherals.  For example, it can support 4x SuperSpeed USB (10Gbps) on 3rd Gen Ryzen...

Ok I was thrown off a second by not supporting the G series APUs which seems like what these boards are made for. They just don't support the "current" APU models. The newer Renoir ones should work. I looked up one of the boards and it does have video output on it.
