AMD Announces EPYC 7003 Series High-Performance “Zen 3” Server Processors

AMD has officially announced its latest lineup of server processors, the EPYC 7003 Series. The new Zen 3-based CPUs were unveiled by AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su and other company executives during a launch event held today, which confirmed that the family comprises 19 SKUs led by what red team is calling the world’s highest-performing server processor: the AMD EPYC 7763. This is a 64C/128T CPU that features a maximum boost frequency of up to 3.5 GHz, 256 MB of L3 Cache, and support for 8 channels of DDR-3200 RAM and 128 lanes of PCIe 4. Its default TDP is 280 watts.

Always want one, but have no real use for one. Weren't the new Threadrippers supposed to be out before these?
I would gladly trade my X58 Xeon box for a low end Epic setup
