Socket AM5, a new desktop platform that AMD launched in August 2022 to complement the next generation of Ryzen processors with several improvements, including dual-channel DDR5 memory and up to 24 PCIe 5.0 lanes, will be supported beyond 2027, Mark Papermaster has confirmed at a recent Tech Day event.

I like sticking with AM5, will my mobo stay relevant though? The newer x870e chipset already has some nifty upgrades. What will the next 3 years bring?
 
Who knows. All I'll say is that sticking to a socket for that long is stupid. As nice as people think it is, staying with a socket for that many CPU generations creates a number of problems they seem to forget about.
