One of the highlights of AMD’s 2022 Product Premiere showcase yesterday was when President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su pulled out a Ryzen 7000 chip, teasing the next-generation of Ryzen processors.



As confirmed by Su near the end of her presentation, the “incredible” Ryzen 7000 Series will comprise Zen 4-based CPUs that are built on a 5-nanometer process, with exciting new features such as support for DDR5 memory. These chips will sit in the new AM5 socket (LGA1718) and feature an updated heatspreader design.

Why would they use an Nvidia GPU?
Very unexpected. Perhaps to show that their architecture is already well-rounded enough that it has no problem working with products from other vendors?

Hard to see an angle here, to be honest.
 
Bye bye, cpu pins. Hello jacked up socket pins. Sad face.

OTOH that new heat spreader is kinda wierd looking, going to be interesting applying heatsink compound JUST right so it doesn't ooze over into the gaps.
