IIRC it was always assumed that RDNA4 performance would match RTX 4080

Will be interesting. If it had more video memory would be even more interesting. I.light be done with team red video cards this go around.

Knowing AMD lately - $1 less than the 4080, then when the 5000 series does finally come out, they will have some good sales/bundles.

If it's at 7800 XT pricing, it's a win, but if it's $700 or $800, then it will face competition with the 50 series in this category from NVIDIA.
 
If they can keep the price around $600 it'll be a slam dunk. It'll really come down to RT and encoder performance. If it's not as good in either or both they need to price it accordingly.
