AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Boasts Up to 84 Percent Better Gaming Performance than 1800X, a Remarkable Multi-Generational Improvement

German IT site Golem.de has pitted every generation of AMD’s 8-core Ryzen 7 X800X processors against one another to determine just how big of a leap there is between the original Zen (2017) and Zen 3 (2020) microarchitectures.



A chart of the results compiled by 3D Center succinctly lays out the dramatic generational improvements, with the Ryzen 7 5800X demonstrating an incredible 75.7 percent bump in game performance (average FPS) over the first-generation Ryzen 7 1800X. The 89 percent improvement in application performance is equally as stunning.



Note that each generation of Zen has resulted in a 20 percent or higher uplift in gaming performance...

Unfortunately, the **** thing is nearly mythological in nature. They are as hard (or harder) to get than GPU's are right now.
 
yeah .. I'd really like to give Newegg some more money for either a 5900x or a 6800 (which ever shows up in stock first I suppose) .. but my Newegg CC is just sitting her burning a whole in my sock drawer ..
 
5800X is the 'most" available of the Zen 3 chips. I'm hunting for a 6800XT or 6900XT and the 5800X shows up much more often than those. If you're set on a 5900X or 5950X, you'll probably be waiting a while.
