Last week, we shared the exciting news that AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X processor had managed to take the number-one spot on PassMark’s rankings for single-threaded performance, besting Intel’s Core i9-10900K by over 250 points (3,455 vs. 3,176).



The achievement got many enthusiasts dreaming about what the higher Zen 3 SKUs could do, and now, the inevitable has happened: AMD’s flagship processor, the Ryzen 9 5950X, has appeared to take the crown with an even more mind-blowing score.

It has a higher boost clock than the 5600X does. This isn't at all surprising.
 
I'm really going to have a hard time not justifying a 5800X upgrade. AMD is killing it.
