AMD users are being told not to update to AGESA ComboAM4v2 1.2.0.5, red team’s latest stable firmware for Athlon/Ryzen/AM4 products, as the release reportedly comes with all sorts of unwanted problems. As rounded up by ComputerBase, reports on reddit and other social media going back weeks suggest that ComboAM4v2 1.2.0.5 is plagued with issues that include single/multi-core clock drops, performance problems with CCX, and higher temperatures due to more aggressive boosting behavior. AGESA v2 1.2.0.5 cannot be downgraded to 1.2.0.3c in many cases, so users should take caution.
