The PlayStation 5 is going to sell a lot better than the Xbox Series X|S this year.

That’s according to Piers Harding-Rolls, an analyst with London-based data and analytics firm Ampere Analysis. In a video that was tweeted by the company earlier this week, Harding-Rolls shares his belief that Sony’s next-generation console will outsell Microsoft’s alternatives “two-to-one” in 2022 as supply increases over the course of the year.

Guess it's more a question of how many can we make then how many can we sell.

MS does not seem to care a lot if they have something to sell or not, they have a ton more money they can throw around yet they can't get half the amount of consoles that Sony does. Their game pass seems to be all they care about at the moment.

Granted a couple weeks ago I could have gotten a Series X, but it was a 799€ bundle with one of those pro controllers and some other stuff so I did not go for it.

I guess analysts are masked console fan nuts too, huh?!

I mean, who still care about this "we sold more" from the 90s/early 2000s conslop war?

If anyone think MS is in this industry to go head-2-head with Sony, that MS could even acquire and still be valued over trillions, give me some of that you're on!

Still holding out for Dreamcast II.... come on Sega, you can do it!
Original Xbox always kinda felt like a spiritual successor to Dreamcast to me (even though it was the same generation).

I'm not even sure I want one at this point. The exclusives will be on PC anyway, so why should I go out of my way?

The main reason I want one is because I bought some disc based games I would prefer to play on an SSD based console vs the slowpoke previous gen 5400 HDD, but atm might start to look out for rumours for a mid gen update if they gonna do that again

I've not really cared about the console wars since the XBOX One launched. I can't think of any games that were console exclusives besides Ghost of Sushi Roll or whatever the hell that game was called that was a PS4 exclusive. That's literally the only one. I'm not about to buy a console for one game.

I've been gaming since 2nd-gen, 8th-gen was probably the weakest and least-interesting console generation thus far.

I definitely won't buy a console for a single game. I need several games, at least 5 games lets say, and those games have to be really f*cking good, and must be exclusive to the console, before I consider purchasing that console. I always like to wait for newer revisions of that console (so the manufacturer can fix any issues that arise, or because they released a more powerful version of that console), and for prices to drop in general (I won't pay anywhere near launch prices). I'm really hoping that I won't feel the need to buy any consoles at all during 9th-gen, cuz hopefully any console exclusives make their way to PC eventually.

I would buy a console for one game, as I did with the ps2, I literally only played GT3 and GT4 on that generation. What, you say that's two games? But I bought a ps2 when GT3 came out then sold it after finishing the game, and bought another ps2 when GT4 came out and sold that one too without ever purchasing any other game. I never needed a PS1, as most PS1 games could be played on emulators even on a PII.

For the PS3, I had a few more games. The Last of Us, GT5, GT6, Heavy Rain, L.A. Noire, Beyond Two Souls, GTA5 (because I couldn't wait for the PC version, but it was the worst decision ever)

PS4: for three games. The Last of Us II, Horizon Zero Dawn, Unchrated Lost Legacy, but as it turns out two of those were pointless. And that is the exact reason I'm not buying a PS5, "fool me once shame on you, fool me I can't get fooled again"

After going through 3 xbox 360's to RROD I'll never have another. And my PS4 did more time as a netflix/online streamer than it ever did as a gaming console. So I won't be getting another one. If I game I tend to keep that to my PC.
