AOC has announced its latest gaming monitor, the AGON AG273QZ. This is a QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 px) TN panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 0.5 ms response time, which makes it an ideal pick for those who want an ultra-smooth gaming experience.



Not surprisingly, AOC is marketing the AG273QZ’s 240 Hz refresh rate as a gaming perk, but this number is also incredibly practical for media enthusiasts. That’s because the frame rate of most videos – 24 fps, 30 fps, 60 fps – can be duplicated into 240 Hz evenly, negating the need for pulldown. The result is smoother video, without judder.



AOC says that the AG273QZ’s is equipped with a “next-gen” TN panel that can display 126.4 percent of the sRGB color space and 93.7 percent of the AdobeRGB color space. No figure for DCI-P3 was given, but this...

Hot **** that's a pricey meatball. >800 bucks for a 27 inch 1440p monitor with some good display characteristics.
