Apple released the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max last October, which, despite substantial improvements such as a more powerful Bionic chip (A14) and advanced pro camera system, featured a Super Retina XDR display that retained a traditional 60 Hz refresh rate. Recent reports from The Elec and industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggest that this will change for the next flagships, as Samsung is purportedly producing 120 Hz OLED panels for use in Apple’s upcoming iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models. Apple introduced a 120 Hz “ProMotion” display for its iPad Pro back in 2017.
