Apple’s M2 Chip Will Reportedly Arrive in 2022 with Redesigned MacBook Air

Apple unleashed its custom, ARM-based 5-nanometer M1 SoC in November 2020 to great fanfare thanks to its great performance and excellent power efficiency. According is a new rumor from leaker dylandkt, Apple is planning to introduce the M1’s successor, the M2, as part of its redesigned MacBook Air models. These will supposedly be launched in the first half of 2022 and feature a complete redesign that’ll be available in a range of iMac-like color options. Apple is also said to be developing a more powerful version of the M1 chip called the M1X, but this will be reserved for the higher-end models such as the Mac Pro.
