Apple and Intel have won the highly contested privilege of being the first tech giants to capitalize on TSMC’s cutting-edge 3-nanometer chip production technology. The news was shared by Nikkei Asia today, which noted in its report that both companies are testing their chip designs with the new technology, with commercial output expected in the second half of 2022. TSMC’s 3-nanometer chip technology is said to increase computing performance by 10 to 15 percent versus 5 nm while reducing power consumption by 25 to 30 percent. According to one source, Intel has the bigger order over Apple.
