Following increasing rumors of Apple entering the electric car market, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to reveal that things could have been a lot easier for the computer company if Tim Cook had just made some time to hear what he had to say. Musk claims that he had actually considered selling Tesla to Apple in recent years, but that Cook “refused” to meet up with him.



“During the darkest days of the Model 3 program, I reached out to Tim Cook to discuss the possibility of Apple acquiring Tesla (for 1/10 of our current value),” Musk tweeted. “He refused to take the meeting.”

If they did that the Model 3 wouldn't have had any display in it and they'd make you buy an iPad for $10000 to mount in it. Then the following year they'd remove the charging port and make you buy a large charging mat for wireless charging. And you could only charge it at authorized Apple charging stations.

Only part of Tesla is a car company. It’s also a large renewable energy hardware provider and owns SolarCity, in addition to its own battery technology, solar cells (SolarRoof) and manufacturing, and also offers energy contracts via those companies as an energy provider.

Ok, there is the Apple car rumor. Forget about that for a second and why on earth would any tech company want to buy a car company or an energy manufacturer or energy provider?

None of that is in Apple’s current dossier.

Big risk, big investment, big brain trust in it?
Whats the point of having billions parked around? Let inflation take care of it? Wait for the government to tax it ?
But yeah, I'm all for apple not buying anything...

Unless Musk is talking about just selling the car business to Apple. I couldn't see Musk letting go of the rest of the company.
