Apple is reportedly planning to release a new iMac model called the “iMac Pro” in 2022 that will feature its latest and greatest chips, the M1 Pro and M1 Max. The rumor comes from leaker dylandkt, who shared a list of purported features that include a 27-inch mini-LED display with ProMotion technology, dark bezels, and a base configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The “Pro” name was supposedly chosen as a means of differentiating it from the 24-inch iMac, which debuted this year.

Given their current marketing trends, this sounds plausible.

Apple has 3 tiers, more or less, when it comes to OS X hardware.

Entry level - Air, the Mini, and the smaller iMacs, the older Macbooks (non-Pro, which don't look like are coming back)

Pro/Prosumer - the MBP's, the previous 5k iMac (which I assume this "Pro" will replace), some of the higher specced Minis

Pro - The Mac Pro is really the only entry in this category, which is due for some love, but tends to get ignored a lot

The iMacs have often just been desktop versions of the Macbooks -- mostly same internals with a bit larger screen, no battery, and external KBM. Makes perfect sense for them to leverage the new M1P/M1M in an iMac form factor and to upgrade their previous 5K screens a bit in the process.
