Apple has already booked the entire initial capacity of TSMC’s cutting-edge N4 process. This is according to a paywalled article from DigiTimes, which confirmed that Apple’s next-generation Mac computers will leverage 4 nanometer chips derived from the evolutionary node. Apple’s current system on a chip, the M1, was manufactured on TSMC’s 5 nanometer process.

Apple has already booked the initial capacity of TSMC’s N4 for its new-generation Mac series, the sources indicated. Apple has also contracted TSMC to make its next-generation iPhone processor dubbed A15, built using the foundry’s N5 Plus or N5P process node, the sources said.TSMC is expected to kick off production for Apple’s A15 chip that will power the upcoming iPhone 13 series by the end of May, the sources noted.

Apple has been an early adopter for TSMc - basically buys out the entire first production line, then other customers get in line as new production lines come on service later on
