Apple announced a completely redesigned MacBook Air and updated 13-inch MacBook Pro during today's WWDC22 event.

Looking really hard at that new Air. Pro isn't much more, but since Apple is insisting on keeping their much-maligned touch-bar, well, that's out.

I have the M1 Pro - at least for the M1 generation: apart from the touchbar (which, yeah, useless) .. the only difference is that the Pro also has a fan so that it can dissipate heat better under heavy work loads. I've never, ever had it come on. So in hindsight, I could have gotten an Air, saved about $200, and had exactly the same computer experience.
