They are taking ARM seriously it seems.

Given ARM will emulate ,or could an x86 execution module be crammed into an ARM core, why the focus on x86 instructions?

Have you used an ARM based laptop? I had some hands-on time with a Surface Pro with the Snapdragon X1E-80-100. It was SLOW SLOW SLOW as balls. Took forever just to open apps.

Intel and AMD are not concerned.

No, I have not used an ARM cpu, well, errr, except in my cell phone and android tablet. My IPad is a bit old but I think has an ARM chip too.
