my new LG monitor used to go to sleep automatically if it was away from the PC for a couple minutes, I changed that to 4 hours which was realy annoying as the PC would wake up after beeing put in sleep mode after 4 hours to put the monitor to sleep now I have it turned off.

I'm not talking about sleep. You can edit your power plan to turn off your displays after a set number of minutes of inactivity.
