ASUS to Launch Recall Program for Failing ROG Maximus Z690 Hero Motherboards

It appears that all of those reports of ASUS’ ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboards failing were legitimate, as the manufacturer has confirmed that it will be working with government agencies to launch a recall program to attend to users who had paid hundreds of dollars for a premium product that quickly malfunctioned under typical usage.



“ASUS is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously,” a post by the company’s technical product marketing manager reads before going on to confirm recent allegations of capacitors being installed incorrectly on some ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboards...

This sucks, but they aren't denying a problem exists, and appear to be trying to get replacements out. I hope that this doesn't damage other stuff on the board when it pops though.
