Attach file in PM's?

In regular posts or threads within the forums there is an "Attach files" button toward the bottom of the pane while making a post.

I don't see this when writing a message in the PM's.

Am I missing something?

I feel like this is pretty typical, that attachments are allowed in forum posts to allow for image permanence, but that PM's have the m disabled.

I just noticed this, and was going to post it in my profile post, but couldn't, because they are disabled there as well.

I don't think it's a big loss.

If I were running the site, my take would probably be that I am paying for bandwidth and storage. The pictures that support the comments threads add value, the rest probably don't.
