Battlefield 2042’s technical playtest is currently ongoing, but it seems that the multiplayer-only shooter is performing worse on the platform that’s normally ideal for this sort of game.
As noted by Battlefield 2042 leaker Tom Henderson, Battlefield 2042 testers are reporting that the Xbox version of the game is running “much smoother” than it is on the PC.
While this is a just a technical preview that will presumably lead to myriad performance improvements, it’s odd that DICE has apparently not yet figured out how to optimize the game for more powerful configurations. The lack of parity is particularly questionable, as Battlefield 2042’s playtest doesn’t even look all that great and clearly seems to be running at reduced graphical settings.
