Is it too late for Anthem to capture the hearts of online shooter fans? BioWare doesn't think so. According to Kotaku's sources, the developer is planning a complete overhaul of the game, which could be dubbed "Anthem 2.0" or "Anthem Next." One person on the project claims that BioWare has already spent months tearing the game down and figuring out what to change: "…we’ve been rebuilding for another few months since.”

The one thing that’s for sure is that BioWare has not abandoned Anthem, despite recent breathless declarations that the game is dead. (There are few better ways to get views on YouTube than declaring Anthem to be dead.) Right now, dozens if not hundreds of developers at both of BioWare’s offices—in Austin, Texas and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada—are quietly working on plans to overhaul the game.

I don't know that its too late. Terrible games have been shelved and re-released or have manage to salvage their reputations long after their initial problematic releases. The real issue comes down to whether or not the cost would be justified and what the time frame for such an overhaul is. My guess is EA's in so deep now that they have no choice but to salvage it in their minds.

Ubi pulled it off with rainbow six siege. But it almost makes more sense to get it ready for a port over onto next gen.

Yeah it's been done before, but it's failed a lot more times than it's succeeded.

Remember EA is in it with this one as this was a game touted to be great and supported for the Nvidia cards. At this point it's probably cheaper to re do the game than the legal headaches of breaking contract with Nvidia. As it is this is egg on Nvidia's face for launching their cards with this game bundled with it.
