BioWare Gives Us a Sneak Peek at Dragon Age 4

BioWare is finally breaking its silence on Dragon Age 4, which nobody seems to know very much about despite being years in development. The company shared a behind-the-scenes video today that includes a small amount of in-game footage, as well as concept art teasing the game’s magical environments and creatures.



According to BioWare GM Casey Hudson, Dragon Age 4 is still in “early production,” but other talking heads have gone ahead and promised that the RPG will double down on the rich characters that the franchise is known for. Lead Writer Patrick Weekes also posed the question, “What happens when you don’t have power?” Players could be in for a very challenging but fulfilling arc.

I liked Andromeda, but Dragon Age Inquisition was a nightmare I'd rather forget.
And this trailer doesn't make me hopeful, I'm not sure these people can or even want to separate their politics from storytelling.
And the fact that all they can show is behind the scenes, and some empty environments possibly rendered in game engine means there is nothing to show that would stand up to scrutiny.

That's not how I remember it.
EA: We will make more Mass Effect to milk the franchise!
Angry mob: Don't you dare touch mass effect unless you are ready to address the ending of ME3!
EA: We'll just make it so detached from the timeline that it will be a mass effect game only in name. It might as well be a different universe for all intents and purposes.
Bioware: fs around for 3 years then realizes they have nothing to show for it.
EA Steps in, Recruits help, they put out a decent game in no more than 2 years.
Angry mob: Some animations are imperfect and there are some glitches: REEEEEEEE the entire game is trash!
