CD PROJEKT RED has published a tweet advising Cyberpunk 2077 players to refrain from using custom mods and saves from unknown sources on the PC version of the game. Apparently, there’s a vulnerability in certain external DLL files that can be exploited by malicious actors to execute unwanted code on PCs.
“If you plan to use @CyberpunkGame mods/custom saves on PC, use caution,” the developer tweeted. “We’ve been made aware of a vulnerability in external DLL files the game uses which can be used to execute code on PCs. Issue will be fixed ASAP. For now, please refrain from using files from unknown sources.”
