Corsair today launched its new family of iCUE ELITE LCD Display Liquid CPU Coolers. Comprising the H100i ELITE LCD, H150i ELITE LCD, and H170i ELITE LCD, all of these new coolers feature a 2.1-inch IPS screen that can be customized to show off PC stats (e.g., fan speeds and system temperatures) or images and animated GIFs. These coolers also leverage Corsair’s new ML RGB Elite Series fans for powerful cooling.

I don't know, could be interesting. Would make for an easier and niftier looking way to keep up with CPU temps while in game if you're only running a single monitor system and don't want a big overlay on your game. I actually think that looks pretty cool.
 
Hey is my PC running hot? Hold up a sec while I get down on the floor to look inside of it......

But I'm sure the glass and LED disco light case lovers will enjoy this too.

Not sure why you'd want to get down on the floor. I can just glance down and to the right and see my CPU cooler plain as day. Plus lots of people with smaller cases keep theirs on their desk next to their monitor. So yeah, I can see this being useful for lots of people.
 
I've avoided comment here because this product isn't for me. I will say if I was into disco lights pc cases I would love something like this.

I just worry this is going to be the new corsair looks over substance.

I use an Aorus Waterforce X AIO and it has a similar screen which I find to be very useful for temps and pump status. I like a little bling to my case lighting, but no flashing lights, just a nice static color (mostly white) for me.

I wouldn't think so. Corsair has been coming out with good quality stuff across most of their line lately. Their cases are really good once again and their power supplies are also getting really good reviews. Corsair seemed to lose their way a couple years ago but it looks to me like they're trying to get back to what they were when I first got into this hobby which is a quality brand that you could buy pretty much anything with their name on it and feel pretty confident you were buying a pretty solid product.

The recent IPO has me questioning everything they make right now.

They won’t be able to screw with quality too much otherwise sales will suffer and that will have investors looking elsewhere. I’d be concerned with why they went public in the first place. Did they need the money for R&D? For expansion? To make up for falling sales? For long investors to get out?

All they need to do to keep investors happy is maitain perceived quality while reducing cost. There will be a tipping point and their consumers will be hurt by it. When and where thst will be who can say.

For me Corsair was one of those companies where everything was gold - they released nothing but quality products. Then they lost me after the initial RM-series PSU release -- which was shortly after they went public iirc. They eventually fixed it, but they are no longer a company I nearly-universally trust.

Seasonic is probably the only one left that I'd pretty much buy without doing a ton of research on.

Depends on how many gamers fall for the perceived quality. It doesn’t take long these days for consumers, especially pc gamers, to detect inferior components/products. That leads to decreases in sales, yada yada yada.
