Corsair has launched the K70 RGB PRO, a new full-size gaming keyboard that comes in five different Cherry MX RGB switch options (Brown, Red, Speed, Blue, Silent) with PBT double-shot keycaps for extended longevity. The keyboard also leverages Corsair’s Axon hyper-processing technology, which delivers inputs up to 8x faster with a polling rate of 8,000 Hz, reducing key press response to just 0.5 ms. Corsair’s K70 RGB PRO mechanical gaming keyboard is available beginning today at the Corsair webstore in North America at a starting price of $159.99 (the Cherry MX RGB Speed and Silent versions are $169.99).

Razer did it with a mouse... apparently it reduces input latency in a measurable manner.

Good luck noticing though!

Still has media keys. Not interested.

Yet you're ok with motherboards that have wifi or the like. I'm confused. ;)
I prefer motherboards not to have built in wireless adapters. It's not as much of a deal breaker but a WiFi adapter isn't something I have to look at. I like sleek, clean, classic looking keyboards where the only modern flare is RGB back lighting. Even that isn't a requirement.

Can't say that I'm a fan either - makes the keyboard unnecessarily taller. I'm pretty well settled on TKL for primary desktop use (that is, mostly gaming), and a full-size for 'work' where numerical input is required.

I love having physical volume keys. I don’t use the other two ever. Maybe if I had an external volume control on a DAC or speakers it would be redundant, but I don’t.

I use audio interfaces (cause same DAC as in the high-end ChiFi stuff that gets pimped in hifi forums), studio monitors as speakers, and an XLR mic on an arm.

I do absolutely get the convenience of 'soft' volume and use it myself on occasion, but for instance with my speakers, I have no less than three volume knobs in the signal path 😅

My biggest problem with media keys and volume knobs is that they are typically extremely cheap feeling and visually, they are rarely consistent with the rest of the keyboard. The new ASUS keyboard has kind of a neat volume control and it doesn't look too bad. However, the MSI keyboard that we just reviewed is a prime example of what I hate with volume knobs and media type keys.

I had a corsair keyboard that had like a wide scroll wheel for volume, and that was nice. My current Ducky just has regular keys - they are the same as the rest of the keyboard. It isn't as precise of control but it works well enough, and they certainly aren't cheap feeling.

I agree with you about the MSI knob. I've not seen one in person, but just looking at it doesn't fill me with confidence, and the other media keys are a joke.

The other media keys are very stiff and there is a tactile click to them but not in the good way. The feel of the media keys on the MSI is jarring as its in contrast to an otherwise excellent quality product.
