Netflix has shared the opening title sequence for its live-action adaptation of Sunrise’s classic neo-noir anime, Cowboy Bebop. It’s basically a total rip-off of the original opening, although that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as Cowboy Bebop’s intro remains one of the most memorable and unique animated openers to this day. Netflix has even decided to reuse Yōko Kanno and The Seatbelts’ classic “Tank!” track, which can typically be found on many top-10 anime opening track lists.









Here’s Sunrise’s original opening for comparison, courtesy of Funimation. Cowboy Bebop comprises 26 “sessions” (episodes), all of which are available to watch on the Sony-owned anime streaming service.

I'm glad they are honoring the source material. And I may have had an 'Ein!!" outburst in the intro credits.

It'll be curious to see if this Fae uses her sexuality as a weapon and cover for her actual vulnerability like she did in the series or if she will be the 'super competent with no real meaningful story' character that they try to push into the front.
