Creative Technology has announced its latest USB DAC, the Sound Blaster X4. A high-resolution 7.1 external USB DAC and amp sound card, Creative’s Sound Blaster X4 is capable of driving studio-grade headphones of up to 600Ω with 114 dB audio clarity and 24-bit/192 kHz high-resolution playback. Some of the exclusive sound technologies that the Sound Blaster X4 supports include Super X-Fi headphone holography for recreating the soundstage of a premium surround system in headphones, and Sound Blaster Surround Virtualization, which enhances spatial information by leveraging optimized algorithms for a more immersive audio experience. Nice. I've been waiting for Super X-Fi to be made available in a way it can be used with third party headphones.

I already have a pretty decent DAC for music (Schiit Bifrost Multibit) but I may get one of these crestive things just for games...

Is creative still full on bloat ware when installing the drivers for, well, anything, I would love to upgrade my audio experience, but only if the included software is decent and focused.

I think it depends on what you buy. Wife has a USB-C audio dongle they make that has a very minimal software suite, and it has worked great for her.

More than likely stability will depend on the features present and in use.
