Crucial has announced what it is calling the world’s fastest memory: Ballistix MAX 5100 gaming DRAM. This appears to be the same SKU that overclocker bianbao XE used for his recent 6666.6 MHz DDR4 achievement, which we covered last month. Unfortunately, the 16 GB kit (2 x 8 GB sticks) costs $899.99. It’s also a limited edition (only 100 were made, apparently), which means that it should be gone very quick.

Our fastest RAM yet. The all-new 5100 modules are on sale now with only 100 kits available! Push it to the limit, we dare you…https://t.co/TwWtfDipwS pic.twitter.com/7OQwMs81CH— Crucial Memory...

CAS of 19 gives it a first word latency of 7.45ns. That's pretty good, better than your average 3200 MT/s memory.
