Today has turned out to be an eventful day for Cyberpunk 2077 fans, as CD PROJEKT RED released a double whammy of news for gamers who haven’t yet given up on its controversial but steadily improving sci-fi RPG.

At the core of today’s announcement is Patch 1.5, a massive update that not only ushers in the next-generation versions of Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S but also includes pages upon pages of updates that improve the game’s gameplay, combat, skill trees, NPC behavior, and more for all platforms. Some of the PC-specific improvements include a new benchmark mode, the inclusion of a Variable Rate Shading (VRS) option, and a fix for a problem relating to Resolution Scaling not working on AMD GPUs when ray tracing is enabled.

Going back to the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077, PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers can expect new...

I had a chance to check this out briefly. The game seems to run as well as 1.31 did but increase traffic density and NPC density to match earlier versions of the game. I'm not entirely sure how that was achieved. They've done a ton of UI updates which are all great. The map UI is a huge welcome change. It differentiates the difference mission types and even shows things like cyberpsycho's on the map to make things easier to navigate. Quick travels are quicker too.

Driving behavior of NPC's is completely revamped. No longer do they only react to V and nothing else. They seem far more independent and they keep the flow of traffic actually moving.

They have rebalanced a lot of abilities and weapons per the patch notes. I can feel a difference but I'd have to play a lot more to track the changes.

Driving is greatly improved. The Quadra V-TEC in particular is now drivable without spinning out. It's not perfect, but it's certainly worlds better. The other cars either handle the same or better than they did.

V's customization stuff is fine. That works smoothly and easily. The apartment skins on the primary apartment work well. Near as I can tell only the primary apartment has that feature. The other apartments are all nice, each with a theme to them. Two are really nice and the other two are for when you want to live somewhere else but are **** *** poor.

Supposedly there are water physics, but I haven't checked them out yet.

I haven't acquired the new weapons.

As for content, I knew there wouldn't be much. Basically we have the apartments, a couple of new weapons, and some additional phone conversations with romantic partners. As near as I can tell, that's it. CDPR did say they added some secrets to all but the initial console versions. What that means is anyone's guess. As I understood it, not all of the secrets had been had anyway.

There is now a fixer rep system which is a welcome sight. I don't know exactly what it does, but it's there.

Nice changes, but all they really do is bring the game closer to what it should have been on launch day. We still don't have a decent police system, you still can't shoot out vehicle tires, shoot from vehicles, etc. (Although mods are out there for some of that.)

Nice to see they CDPR still moving forward with this... but I want new content if I am going back in. No real desire to re-roll and do the same things over again.

There really isn't any content with this update and that's unfortunate. There may be some "secrets to discover" as CDPR put it, but that's not much of a reason to play. That being said, the general quality of life in the game is improved quite a bit. Simple things like the UI mostly working properly is nice.

It still has the same bug of not remembering your subtitle settings for both main subtitles and overhead text on NPC's. I hate subtitles in games and this infuriates me to no end.

Exactly, I need new story content and lots of it if I'm going to go back. I haven't started the game in over a year.

I haven't ever started the game and I preordered that thing. I WILL. just haven't yet.
