Introduced in February 2021, Microsoft’s FPS Boost is an exciting feature that leverages the increased performance of its Xbox Series X|S consoles to play select backward-compatible games at double (and sometimes quadruple) their original frame rate. The latest title to get support for FPS Boost is the final installment of Bandai Namco and From Software’s popular action role-playing series, Dark Souls III. Dark Souls III players can now enjoy the game at up to 60 FPS on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles. The original version of Dark Souls III was capped to 30 FPS even on the Xbox One X.
