DDR5-8888: New World Record for Fastest Memory Frequency Achieved

G.SKILL has announced that a new overclocking world record for fastest memory frequency has been achieved with one of its latest premium memory products.



As detailed on the CPU-Z validation site and a press release shared by the company, an overclocker by the name of lupin_no_musume was able to overclock G.SKILL’s Trident Z5 DDR5 memory to the incredible speed of 8888 MHz under 88-88-88-88-127-2 timings. A video of the feat, which was accomplished with an ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Apex motherboard and 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900K processor, can be viewed below.

Well, that loose sloppy **** is just to enable that RAM to hit those kind of clock speeds. Keep in mind that massive bandwidth increases tend to offset those latencies as well. Although, where that balances out isn't something I've had the chance to figure out.
