If you missed out on a GeForce RTX 3080 today, don’t fret, as an even better version could be just around the corner. NVIDIA has released the whitepaper for its Ampere GA102 GPU architecture, and eagle-eyed readers spotted something interesting in the tables comparing the GeForce RTX 3090, GeForce RTX 3080, and GeForce RTX 3070 with their predecessors.

By the time my card is due to ship, these new cards will probably be out so I'll cancel and go through the whole thing again lol.
I might get to play Cyberpunk2077 in January (2077!).
 
NVIDIA probably has these parts queued up for release once AMD announces it's Radeon "Big Navi" based 6000 series GPU's.

Is there much point to this strategy? I mean, if Nvidia releases their 3070 16GB and 3080 20GB before Big Navi, what would AMD respond with besides pricing? And if AMD does try to come at them with a lower price, couldn't Nvidia just shuffle their stack pricing down to be competitive?

I'm fine with playing CP2077 on a 2080ti with DLSS, chances are you'd need DLSS on the 3080 too anyway.
