Microsoft has announced DirectX 12 Ultimate, a graphics API that was designed to facilitate and unify ray tracing, variable rate shading (VRS), mesh shading, and other next-generation graphics techniques across PCs and Xbox Series X consoles. Long story short, these platforms are guaranteed to have some of the best-looking games ever.

This could be the start of some momentum for Team X, this seems like a much bigger deal than a bit faster processor in a console.
 
This is a huge deal for amd too. Could really. Light a fire under nvidia if they are second to the api plate.
